The Social project "Charity canteen"

      The purpose - to improve the socio-economic status of socially unprotected people - namely, to promote normal development of children from socially weak families: the poor, large families, families who are in difficult circumstances, who bring up  seriously ill children and others - providing them with free meals in a specially equipped canteen.
      the Task:

1.      Organization of the charitable canteen.

2.      To provide  kitchen by food. 

3.      To work regular 5 days in a week

4.      Enforcement of sanitary standards of food preparation and serving.

the goal of Project  - the children of preschool and school children from socially weak families: the poor, large families, families who are in hard situation, families who bring up seriously ill children and the street children - 45 people.

Project rationale:

       Today the socio-economic situation of Ukraine is crisis. But the most crisis is felt by socially unprotected people - socially weak families: the poor, large families, families which are in hard situation, who bring up  seriously ill children and others .These categories of people united by the fact that to the overall reduction of their economic capacity due to the rising prices of commodities of common use, utilities, etc. And now It`s hard  for them to realize  one of the main functions of the family - the healthy development of the next generation. In fact, these families are limited in most basic - food for their children. Normal physical development of children is at risk,  natural immunity of children is lowering,  risk of different diseases is increasing, there are cases of malnutrition,  avitaminosis, exacerbation of chronic diseases.

        Children of socially weak families have many  problems, such as: divorce of parents, single families, drug or alcohol addiction parents or somebody from the family, domestic violence problems, difficulties, which arise  as a result of wrong educational influences and it causes of deviant behavior of children (antisocial behavior, escape from the house, smoking, drug addiction, toxicomania etc.). So, these are children whose parents, from  different reasons, can not provide a good level of care. Also we should include the families, in which parents carry out their duties responsible, but at this moment they have crisis situation (unemployment, tragic accident in the family, disability, etc.) because of these circumstances parents  lose basic function - material support of the child. Besides,there is a really difficult life situation of families who are bringing up disabled children.

         Social work with the family, which is in hard situation, it`s  not limited in material and social benefits, it includes a range of measures which help  to find out  the reasons of the problem situation. All  activities are carried out with the involvement of public and private social services which provide social, psychological, legal, educational and others. The main  problem  is that there aren`t  government social institutions to provide free services such as catering children from socially weak families for the period until such a family needs for that service. Thus, support of these families, in terms of providing free meals for their children, is urgent need, which makes it possible to meet the more successful implementation of an overall program of work with families for the withdrawal of its crisis. If you can solve problems and achieve the provision of family functioning when it is able to provide their children most necessary, particularly food, can talk about passing the family process of social adaptation to new conditions and completion phases of a crisis of social support for families.

       Organization of the charity canteen  for the children of crisis categories also proved that our charitable Foundation also  would realize a number of social programs, which are directed to facilitate successful socialization and resocialization of children of these categories,  including them in cultural and educational space of Social Center for Children and Youth Charitable Foundation ``Caritas-Kyiv``. The  children get service of social worker, social pedagogue, psychologist, organized the work of the game room, where  children have lessons. The aim of the lessons is to improve  the educational and cultural level of children, to overcome illiteracy etc. Children learn to write, master basic computer skills, watch and discuss the best films, engage in molding, sewing, painting and other kinds of fine Art, can use a mini-library that includes books and magazines for children. Thus, the good conditions were created in this center that children could usefully spend their free time. Organization of the charity canteen gives the opportunity to provide a longer stay of children in the center. It helps realize educational and cultural influence and consolidate the positive results of training and education of children as part of their successful socialization.
